Family Resources | Week of September 17

Preschool

This month preschoolers are learning that God knows what is best for me. This week they see this when they learn about when Jonah chooses not to go where God asks him to go. After being swallowed up by a fish, Jonah has a change of heart and decides that God knows what is best for him and chooses to obey.

Lead Their Growth: Add several different colors of toy fish to bath time. Play a game where you call out a color and your child has to find that color fish. When you’re done playing, talk about how God sent a really big fish to keep Jonah safe.

Elementary

This month elementary students are learning about friendship, which is using your words and actions to show others you care. This week we learned how Barnabas stood up for Saul (Acts 9:26-30) and the main point was, “Friends stand up for one another.”

Monthly Verse: “A friend loves at all times. They are there to help when trouble comes.” -Proverbs 17:17 (NIrV)

Lead their growth: Ask, “How can you stand up for others?”
