Family Resources | Week of September 10

Preschool

This month preschoolers are learning that God knows what is best for me. This week they see this when they learn about when Moses led God’s people out of Egypt, and he had a lot of choices to make. Moses’ faith that God knows what is best for me grew as he walked across dry land right through the Red Sea.

Lead Their Growth: While on the go, look for things that are wet or carry water (rain, puddle, lawn sprinkler, fire hydrant, lake, water hose, fire truck, etc.) and things that are dry (which could be just about anything). Talk about how God made a dry path right through the wet Red Sea for Moses and the Israelites to walk on.

Elementary

This month elementary students are learning about friendship, which is using your words and actions to show others you care. This week we learned how David kept his promise to Jonathan (1 Samuel 19-20, 2 Samuel 9) and the main point was, “A friend keeps their promises.”

Monthly Verse: “A friend loves at all times. They are there to help when trouble comes.” -Proverbs 17:17 (NIrV)

Lead their growth: Check out this article on the promises God has made to us: https://www.biblestudytools.com/topical-verses/gods-promises-verses-in-the-bible/ Emphasize how God is the best friend because He always keeps his promises.
