Family Resources | Week of April 23rd

Preschool

This month preschoolers are learning that Jesus is alive. This week they see this when they learn about how Jesus gave His disciples a special job to tell others that Jesus is alive and He wants to be their friend forever.

Lead Their Growth: While on the go, see how many people you can tell, “Jesus loves you so much!”

Elementary

This month elementary students are learning about humility, which is putting others first by giving up what you think you deserve. This week, we learned about how Jesus helped his friends understand God’s plan as they walked to Emmaus (24:13-35). The main point was, “Put others first by helping them understand.”

Monthly Verse: “Don’t do anything only to get ahead. Don’t do it because you are proud. Instead, be humble. Value others more than yourselves.” Philippians 2:3 (NIrV)

Lead Their Growth: Ask, “How can you help someone understand something about God?” Consider making some cards with truths your family knows about God and handing them out with treats to friends or neighbors, or with water bottles and socks to people experiencing homelessness. Thank God that He helps us understand His love.
