Family Resources | Week of April 9th

Preschool

This month preschoolers are learning that Jesus is alive. This week they see this when they learn that Jesus, God’s son, died and on the third day, He came back to life. Just like He said He would.

Lead Their Growth: While on the go, look for stones. Big ones. Little ones. Find one you can take home. Talk about how after Jesus was buried, the big stone rolled away, and the angel said, “Jesus is alive!”

Elementary

This month elementary students are learning about humility, which is putting others first by giving up what you think you deserve. This week, we learned about how Jesus died on the cross for us and rose again after 3 days (John 18:12-23). The main point was, “Celebrate because Jesus is alive!”

Monthly Verse: “Don’t do anything only to get ahead. Don’t do it because you are proud. Instead, be humble. Value others more than yourselves.” Philippians 2:3 (NIrV)

Lead Their Growth: Ask, “Why do we celebrate that Jesus is alive?” Discuss what Christ’s resurrection means for us (we get to be with God forever, we don’t have to be afraid of death, we know how much God loves us, etc.). Consider making Resurrection Rolls as you review the story of the crucifixion and the resurrection.
