Family Resources | Week of September 4th

Preschool

This month preschoolers are learning that God loves them no matter what. This week they see this when they learn about how Hannah was deeply heartbroken. Hannah talked to God and then knew that she could trust God with all her heart and that God would love her and help her.

Lead Their Growth: Cuddle with your child and pray: “God, thank you for giving us emotions, like happiness and sadness. Thank you that we can always talk to You about how we feel and that You will love us no matter what.”

Elementary

This month elementary students are learning about trusting God. This week, we looked at how Abraham and Sarah had to wait for God to keep his promise of giving them a child (Genesis 15:1-6, Genesis18: 1-15).The main point was “Trust God even when you have to wait.”

Monthly Verse: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Do not depend on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 (NIrV)

Lead Their Growth: Ask, “What are some things you have had to wait for?” You can even make a special plan for the end of the week, like going to get ice cream as a family. You can point out that even though your child has to wait, they can trust you will keep your promise, just like how we can trust that God will keep His promises to us because He is a good Father.
