Family Resources | Week of June 12th

This month preschoolers are learning that Jesus can help them do everything. This week they see this when they learn about Paul and Silas. Paul and Silas show us what it is like to choose joy even when we are in a difficult situation.

Lead Their Growth: Cuddle with your child and pray: “God, please help us choose joy, even when things don’t go the way we want. Knowing that You love us so much that You gave us Jesus to be our friend forever is the greatest joy.”

This month elementary students are learning that what we do today can change the world around you. This week, we looked at how the apostles chose joy when they were being treated badly in Acts 5 and the main point was the Holy Spirit can help you choose joy.

Monthly Verse: The fruit the Holy Spirit produces is love, joy and peace. It is being patient, kind and good. It is being faithful and gentle and having control of oneself.” Galatians 5:22-23a, NIrV

Lead Their Growth: Ask “What is something God has done that brings you joy?” Ask your child to draw or paint what joy looks like to them and write some things God has done around their creation.
