Family Resources | Week of May 1st

Preschool

This month preschoolers are learning that God made everything. This week they see this when they learn that God made light and dark; sky and water. When darkness falls or they look up at the sky, they can know that God made everything.

Lead Their Growth: Cuddle with your child and pray: “God, thank you for making the light, dark, sky, and water. Help us to see You when we look at the things You made.”

Elementary

This month elementary students are learning about resilience -- getting back up when something gets you down. This week we learned about the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20) and the main point was “God is always with you.”

Monthly Verse: “But those who trust in the LORD will receive new strength. They will fly as high as eagles. They will run and not get tired. They will walk and not grow weak.” Isaiah 40:31 NIrV

Lead their Growth: Ask, “When have you felt alone?” and “What are some ways we can remember that God is always with us?”

Students

This  week,  we'll  see  how  Jesus  restored Peter after his betrayal by giving him a mission – Jesus gives us a mission today! We’re looking at John 21:1-3, 15-17, Matthew 28:16-20, Acts 9:1-20, and I Peter 2:21.

Lead Their Growth: What’s the biggest thing hold your student back from fully embracing Jesus’ mission? What are some areas in your student’s life where they can currently be on mission? Help them process through this and encourage them to be brave in taking this next step. You can use this Bible app plan to follow along in this series with your student.
