Family Resources | Week of April 24th

Preschool

This month preschoolers are learning that Jesus wants to be my friend forever. This week they see this when Jesus cooks breakfast for His friends on the beach. Jesus loves His friends and wants to serve them.

Lead Their Growth: While on the go, ask your child what they think makes a person a good friend. Talk about how Jesus is a good friend to everyone.

Elementary

This month elementary students are learning hope -- believing something good can come out of something bad. This week we looked at the story of Jesus appearing to Thomas (John 20:19-29) and the main point was “Whatever happens, remember God is bigger than your questions.”
Monthly Verse: “In this world you will have trouble. But be encouraged! I have won the battle over the world.” John 16:33b NIrV

Lead Their Growth: Ask, “What are some questions you have for God?” On a piece of paper, work together to write down some doubts or questions people have for God in pencil. Then, get out some markers and draw or write some good things we know about God over and around the questions. Remind kids that it’s okay to have questions for God, and that it’s also important to remember that God is bigger than all our questions and His love for us will never change.

Students

This  week,  we'll  see  how  Jesus  responded  when  Thomas  doubted  Jesus really was alive – Jesus can be trusted! We’re looking at John 20:19-31, Proverbs 3:5-6, and Philippians 4:4-6.

Lead Their Growth: What are some practical ways we can take to grow our trust in God? Share with your student ways you want to grow and ask them to share as well – commit to helping each other take that growth step! You can use this Bible app plan to follow along in this series with your student.
