Family Resources | Week of April 3rd

Preschool
This month preschoolers are learning that Jesus wants to be my friend forever. This week they see this when Jesus walks on water to be with His friends when they need Him. If Jesus can walk on water to be with us, we know He will always be with us.
Lead Their Growth: Add plastic toy figures/animals to bath time. Show your child how to make them walk on water. As your child plays, talk about how even though people and animals can’t walk on water, Jesus really did walk on water.

Elementary
This month elementary students are learning about hope -- believing something good can come out of something bad. This week we looked at the story of Jesus raising Lazarus (John 11:1-45) and the main point was “Whatever happens, remember how powerful God is.”
Monthly Verse: “In this world you will have trouble. But be encouraged! I have won the battle over the world.” John 16:33b NIrV
Lead Their Growth: Ask “What are some things that help us know how powerful God is?” Talk about some Bible stories that show God’s power, moments where God has moved in your own life, or even go on a nature walk and talk about how God revealed His power in all He created.

Students
This week in Student Ministry we’ll see how everything we do can be a form of worship, but especially the things we do in love. We’ll help each other make a habit to worship with our lives.
Lead Their Growth: Talk to your student about something unique they’re really passionate about. Help them brainstorm ways they can worship God with that thing. Is it writing? Maybe encourage them to try writing a 7-day devotional for other high school girls. Is it video games? Encourage them to ask friends in chat how they can pray for them (and maybe even pray with them over voice chat!). Is it making TikTok videos? Brainstorm with them ways they can make videos that honor God and encourage their friends. For Scripture to go over as a family, you can look at Colossians 3:14-17, Psalm 63, and James 2:14-17. You can also use the Bible plan on YouVersion here.
