Family Resources | Week of March 6th

Preschool
This month preschoolers are learning that everyone can be friends with Jesus. This week they see this when Jesus asks Andrew, Peter, John and James to follow Him. He didn’t ask leaders or officials, he asked fishermen. Not men who were powerful and famous.

Lead their growth: During bath time, add two toy people for your child to play with. Pretend one toy is Jesus and the other toy is following Jesus. Talk about how Jesus told some fishermen to follow Him, and they did!

Elementary
This month elementary students are learning cooperation, working together to do more than you can alone. This week they see how the Israelites worked together to build the tabernacle.

Monthly Verse: “Two people are better than one. They can help each other in everything they do.” Ecclesiastes 4:9, NIrV

Lead their growth: When have you seen people work together? Help your child think of examples of ways our church works together to make a difference for God.

Students
This Week in Student Ministry: We’ll see what Jesus’ transfiguration reveals about the connection between our transformation and time in God’s presence. We want to make it a habit to spend time with God.

Lead Their Growth: You can talk to your student about the one habit they want to focus on to help them spend time with God. How can you help them form that habit? For scripture to go over as a family, you can look at Matthew 17:1-8, 2 Corinthians 3:18-4:2, and Psalm 51:10-12. You can also use the Bible plan on YouVersion here.
